Dear friends and family,
It has occurred to me since my last update the People’s Church has come, impacted, and gone and I really want to share about their amazing time here.
I was so thankful and proud that my church family and my Dad came to encourage and spread God’s love. It was even more special since my Dad got to come and see the work that I do and can visualise and better understand what I am here doing here and why. He is so supportive and an encouragement to me as well as everyone that He witnessed to here. The whole team definitely shared their heart for spreading the love of God to the nations. I say this over and over but they truly are doing amazing things around the world!
All of the team members got a chance to share their testimonies or an encouraging word at one point or another and I am so thankful they were ready at a moments notice. This being the first team that I had led they had to extend grace to me for my oversights and lack of navigation skills through Bankok airport, but when we did arrive in Myanmar we hit the ground running. We ministered at several of our orphanages. The team split up and helped with two painting projects. They painted the new home in which the children live at Timothy’s Nazareth Children’s Home and also painted the kitchen/dining building at Father’s House. The children enjoyed games and a Christmas story the team had prepared and also joined in the painting activities. Although the children had never painted before we think some might have found a skill that they enjoy. They learned that with a little care and pride in your work you can have outstanding results in which you can take pride in for years.
We arrived back in Thailand just in time for New Years Eve so we spent the day riding elephants and lighting/releasing lanterns. The next day which was the first day of the new year we were giving away shoes to villagers at Love and Grace Children’s home in MaeToh. I couldn’t think of anything better than putting shoes on children’s feet on the first day of the year. What a way to start the year! We also brought hamburgers and a grill to cook an American style dinner for all the children and church members. The next day the team ministered deeper into the MaeToh village where the road ends. Here they gave away blankets to all who came to hear their testimonies and prayed for all who needed healing.
It was an exciting and very quick time that I wish would have lasted longer. I want to thank the team again for their love and grace that they showed, their willingness to help with anything, their willingness to eat anything, and all without a word of complaining. You truly are a blessing. I hope we have more teams like you come in the near future!
